I seem to be spending a large amount of time in my Google Reader lately, but I can’t help it. The content that I have found in the last month is becoming too compelling not to read. Because of this fact, I have decided to periodically share the articles I find most interesting. I think I am going to call the new series ‘Couldn’t Have Said It Better Myself.’ Maybe in the future I will shorten it to an acronym to make myself sound cool. Maybe.
I had worked on a regular post for today that I think will spark some discussion. I have decided to wait to post that entry until Monday when everyone gets back from our holiday vacation (USA Independence Day for those reading not in the US). Instead, I will post some interesting links for those of us who are starting our vacation a bit late. Here are the links:
The Four Agreements: Toltec Wisdom and the Modern Man This is the first post from Matt Cheuvront on the online magazine Primer that is about four ways to becoming a better man (or woman). Matt is a great writer and has been making a lot of changes in his life and realigning what he wants to do with what he is currently doing. Follow his journey to a new city using his blog Life Without Pants.
We’re Awesome Another person who has been making a lot of changes in her life, Jamie wrote a great post about living life to the fullest and not listening to our critics. Read about her one way ticket to Italy (I am wicked jealous!) at her blog Intersected.
Survival of the Pompous Beginning to become known for his short and insightful posts, Carlos has been writing in his blog for only a few months but has touched on several controversial topics within that time. His blog is a must read and takes much less time to read than others. Check it out at Owlsparks.com.
The Keys to Life: Running and Reading Ben Casnocha always has smart and interesting posts full of useful ideas. This post is no different. Using a clip from Youtube, he highlights what two things Will Smith believes are the keys to success. Even though Will is giving the speech at the Kid’s Choice Awards, it is a very insightful way to look at success.
And one bizarre/hilarious/random link:
Epic Win: Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. There has been a lot of discussion this week about Nintendo this week, so I thought this would be a good link to include. This is a video from the Nintendo game Punch Out which was an amazing game in it’s time. The music brings me back to countless hours spent trying to dodge the punches of Mike Tyson while my parents were yelling at me to get to bed. The site itself, onceuponawin.com offers lots of retro advertisements from the 70′s, 80′s and 90′s and provides lots of nostalgia when trying to avoid doing work.

Ah, how I love Fridays. Fridays are for giving and sharing and caring and spreading the good word about people around us. Let the other 6 days be about me, me, me, but Friday I dedicate to everyone else out there. It’s great to see so many people jumping on board, whether it’s me with ‘Awesome Friday’, Grace with ‘Friday Linky Love’ or you with ‘I Couldn’t Have Said it Better Myself’ (like that title by the way) – there is a lot of love to be felt – a great way to end the week.
Always a pleasure to have you reading, commenting, sharing your wisdom in my neck of the woods, both on and off the blog. Cheers to you my good man, and have a great holiday weekend!
Benjamin, this is an amazing honor! I’m speechless, because the other three bloggers are people that I truly respect and admire, so it’s a double privilege to be up there!
Like Matt says, it seems like Fridays are all about love, maybe I should get into it too…And yeah, the name of the series is awesome
I’m really looking forward to see the future of this blog man, bright future ahead! Have fun!
Thanks Ben for including me! You’re awesome, obviously. =)
I respect the other bloggers you’ve mentioned here, so I feel fortunate to have been included! Talk with ya soon, man..
